Description
Alkaline earth metal perchlorates are inorganic compounds in which the largest oxoanion is perchlorate, and in which the heaviest atom not in an oxoanion is an alkaline earth metal.  Perchlorate is a non-carcinogenic (not listed by IARC) potentially toxic compound. Magnesium Perchlorate is a white crystalline solid. Strongly absorbs water from air and dissolves in it. Accordingly, used as a regenerable drying agent. May explode under prolonged exposure to heat or fire.
